The Allure of the Network Marketing Stage

As Bhaskar said, there was an upcoming event that could boost my confidence and help me grow in my business; I was constantly thinking about it. The next day, I met him and asked again about the event, and then he showed me a video.

A Glimpse of the Grand Stage

Our organization had conducted one convention at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. More than 100,000 students from India gathered there. The stage was at the center and decorated nicely.

The director of the organization was there and gave a speech. Then, all the young personalities, aged between 25 and 30, came on the stage individually. The host would call their names, and everyone would come up with a grand entry on the stage. Their associates and downlines were treating them more than celebrities. There was music, lights, and hooting that was making the atmosphere electrifying. One guy owned a BMW GT car and had a network of 120,000+ associates from all over India. He entered the stage with his BMW, and the audience went wild. They were chanting his name. Then he came out of the car wearing goggles, and his associates, standing in a queue, were bowing down to him on the stage. Then, 20-30 more personalities like him entered the scene, and each had a unique way of showing their charisma.

I was so immersed in that video that I started imagining myself standing on that stage, wearing luxurious tuxedos & goggles and people cheering for me. Suddenly, Bhaskar paused the video. I immediately looked at him and saw his smiling face.

He said, “What happened, Chirag? You were not even taking your eyes off my phone. Were you watching something very serious and interesting?”

I smiled and said, “Yes, Sir, I have never seen such a scene.”

“Yes, now see what happens next,” he said and resumed the video.

One person had invited his parents on the stage, and everyone was clapping and cheering for him. His parents were so ecstatic upon getting such a welcome that tears flowed from their eyes, and had constant smiles. I became very excited and wanted to stand on that stage with my parents.

Bhaskar’s Challenge

I paused the video and said to Bhaskar, “I just want to go there, man. What a scintillating atmosphere that is! When will this happen again?”

“It will happen soon. Just think, apart from celebrities, how many people can witness such an environment where thousands of people would cheer for them because you have changed their lives? How would you feel if you got to stand on that stage?” said Bhaskar.

“I can’t imagine. It would be an amazing experience.” I replied.

“Then what are you doing to go up to that stage? All these guys have done something so that they are standing on the stage. And even if you stand on that stage, who would cheer for you? These people are being cheered up because those leaders have changed their lives. So, if you desire to be there, you must achieve something.” said Bhaskar.

I remained silent since I could grasp what he was hinting at me.

Then he spoke, “So, dear Chirag, only one month left for our next convention. This time, it will happen in Chandigarh. Near about 2-3 thousand persons will be coming. You have a golden opportunity now. If you could make 20 people join this month, you would be standing on the stage, and your team and all of us would cheer for you.”

I just nodded my head positively and tried to convince myself that I could do that. Then he asked, “Do you know who is coming this time?”

“Who?” I asked.

He named a very successful personality in our organization who led a team of 60,000 persons only at 25. He was very dynamic, and his speeches were so persuasive that he could quickly motivate even a dumb guy who had no idea about network marketing.

“How would you feel if such a successful person saw you speaking on the stage? Don’t you think he would be impressed and help you grow your business? Just work very hard, Chirag and let’s achieve something by the end of this month.” said Bhaskar.

My Struggle to Recruit

I was motivated and ready to go to anyone and show them the presentation. I did that for three days and delivered the presentation to about ten people, including some friends and strangers. But none of them converted. Gradually, my motivation was lost, and I became frustrated.

Bhaskar and Harsh were trying to motivate me by regularly talking to me and telling me some inspiring stories but they had no effects on me. I stopped meeting people and just focused on reading books.

The day of the convention neared, and I could show no result. I went there with a heavy heart, yet I was excited to witness the event and the prominent spokesperson.

Journey to Chandigarh: Anticipation and Excitement

Finally, the day came, and we all booked a bus to go to Chandigarh to attend the convention. I saw a huge gathering outside the auditorium when we reached it. Many students from different states like Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Jammu were there. All of them were in formals, and their leaders had worn blazers.

After half an hour, the entrance opened, and we took our seats. 2 girls held mics, and I could understand they were the hosts. For half an hour, they played music and tried to cheer up the crowd. Then, one by one, our uplines entered the stage according to their hierarchy. Most of them were in their twenties, and their speeches were very intriguing. They shared their experiences during their tenure while working in the organization. They were addressing the problems that I used to face. I could relate to what they were saying, and they also gave solutions that they had applied and became successful. Gradually, as time passed by, my interest started increasing. But I was only expecting the big personality who had yet to come. I had already watched some of his videos on YouTube, which were very good.

The Grand Entrance: A Dazzling Start to the Convention

Then, the host announced that he was coming to the stage. She urged everyone to clap and shout as much as possible to make his entry grand. 10-12 associates gathered on the stage and made a two-lined queue. They held roses, and the music was changed as if a king was about to enter. All of us took out our phones and turned on the flashlight. Finally, he entered, and the crowd was unstoppable. They were shouting and hooting as if they had achieved great success only by seeing him. I was also clapping and was amazed to see his craze.

This went on for 15-20 minutes, and the person standing on the stage requested everyone to sit and become silent as he had a lot of things to address, and the time was very short. Everyone took their seats and became quiet as he started speaking. He taught us something that resolved a big problem of mine, and I was enthusiastic to begin again.

The upcoming chapters will explain what he said and how it helped me. Till then, stay tuned…
